In 2018, while on unpaid maternity leave, we set out to create a space that reflects our community and celebrates diverse makers through carefully curated, accessible goods.

Drawing from our backgrounds in merchandising and creative direction (Michelle at Etsy and Lisa at NYC’s iconic Strand Bookstore) we set out to build something that would allow us to care for kids while remaining in the small business/ maker realm.  We scraped together our savings and with no business plan, signed a lease and hoped for the best.

Six years later, that vision has grown into three shops: Stay Forever, our home and lifestyle store; Forever Young, our children’s shop; and our upstate location, Stay Forever Catskill. Each space reflects our shared passion for thoughtful retail and intentional curation where representation matters.

As a Latina and AAPI-owned shop, we celebrate diversity through the brands we carry and prioritize supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ makers . Growing up, we didn’t see ourselves reflected in the world around us so it was important for us to build a shop where everyone in our community can feel seen, valued, and inspired.
